I got lucky and purchased these gloves in brand-new condition for $4 from a local Goodwill. It's been a great purchase, one I wouldn't of minded spending full-price on. I have the black gloves with the red logo, I'm assuming the white ones are identical.

These gloves are meant for training, so they have extra padding compared to actual fight gloves. This is great for sparring with a partner, as the extra padding gives you both a little extra protection from injury. Injuring yourself while training means you'll have time taken away from training, which isn't very efficient! Even heavy bag work, especially when your starting out and strengthening your hands, the extra padding lets you put more into your punch without injuring yourself. It has adequate padding on both the knuckles and the back of the hand, so you'll be protected no matter which way you're striking, as well as a solid wrist-wrap, which has three points of velcro, and can be adjusted for a perfect fit.

I have the S/M size, which is just a bit too small for me when I put hand-wraps on, but perfect without them. I'm 6', 170lbs, and I'd say my hands are medium to medium-large, so it makes sense that the hand-wraps would bump me up a size. Since I got them cheap, I'm not complaining, but it is something to keep in mind when you're ordering. Without hand-wraps, I cut up my knuckles(usually the pinky) a bit from hitting the heavy bag; a minor inconvenience, but one you may not be willing to tolerate, so be aware.
